Volkswagen has revealed new Volkswagen Caddy BlueMotion. This new Caddy will make its first public appearance at the 2013 Frankfurt
Auto Show this week. The Caddy is the German auto giant’s light commercial vehicle which is already on sale in Europe and many other
international markets.
This new Caddy from ‘Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ is the “most fuel-efficient Caddy ever” thanks to the fuel efficiency of
26.7kmpl. The Caddy BlueMotion is powered by the 1.6-litre TDI which belts out 102 PS of max power and a peak torque of 250Nm.
Emission figures of this BlueMotion Caddy stand at 117 g/km of CO2. The Caddy can accomodate 60 ltr of diesel. This coupled with the
excellent fuel efficiency figures, gives an outstanding tank range of 1200+ kms.
Helping the new Caddy achieve these efficient numbers are certain aerodynamic tweaks, a ECU,lower ride height, an engine start/stop
function, low rolling resistance tyres and brake energy recuperation.
Differentiating factors in Caddy BlueMotion include badging at the rear, its lower ride height, special full wheel covers and painted
side guard strips.
Equipment list consists of standard hill hold assist, cruise control system, exclusive seat upholstery and gloss blackened surrounds
for air vents.
Though not confirmed, Volkswagen is contemplating this for the Indian market, but we can’t say which version
( commercial or passenger) will be coming to our shores , or this may be just a plain rumour.
Hope the bosses at Volkswagen bring the passenger version of the Caddy for us.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Volkswagen Caddy.
