For a Tesla owner in Thane, a shopping trip can now also become a charging stop. Tesla has opened a new Destination Charging facility at Lake Shore Thane, giving local owners another place to charge their cars. The new site also comes with a small but useful addition for Tesla’s growing owner community. The company has started its Refer and Earn programme in India.
New Charging Facility In Thane
The new charging point is located in the UB parking area at Lake Shore Thane. It has four AC Destination Chargers, with each charger offering 11 kW of power.
Tesla says the facility has 99.95 per cent uptime. Owners can use the chargers while shopping or dining at the location.
With the new Thane site, Tesla now has seven charging locations across India.

Refer And Earn Programme
Tesla has also started its Refer and Earn programme in India. Existing owners can share a referral link with friends or family members who are planning to buy a Tesla.
The reward is ₹11,000 for every referred customer who takes delivery. The amount can be used towards Supercharging or a new Tesla.
There is also a limited offer for the first 10 customers who place an order through a referral link. They will receive an additional ₹22,000 discount on their purchase.
Tesla Experience In Thane
Tesla is also holding its first Tesla Experience event in Thane at the Lake Shore Thane Courtyard from August 12 to 19.
Visitors can check out the Model Y and Model Y L through guided walkarounds and product sessions. Test drives can also be booked through Tesla’s website.

The 2026 Model Y Premium Rear Wheel Drive also gets Grok AI. Tesla lists an indicative EMI from ₹39,990 with a down payment from ₹6 lakh. The Model Y L has an indicative EMI from ₹49,990 with a down payment from ₹6.5 lakh.
Tesla’s latest move gives its owners another charging option in the Mumbai region while the referral programme adds a new way for existing customers to bring more buyers into the brand.
