Hero MotoCorp has taken the first international step for its electric brand, Vida. The company has selected Nepal as the first country outside India to sell its EVs. This move opens a new chapter for Vida after its strong growth in the Indian market during the first half of 2026.
Hero has joined hands with CG Motors, a part of Nepal’s Chaudhary Group, to handle sales and distribution. Buyers in Nepal will get the Vida VX2 electric scooter in Go and Plus variants along with the Dirt.E K3 electric off road bike for young riders.
Vida’s Strong India Sales Gave Hero A Good Start
Before entering Nepal, Vida recorded healthy demand in India. Between January and June 2026, the company sold 1,02,097 electric scooters. Monthly sales also showed steady improvement.
- January: 13,830 units
- February to April: Sales continued to grow
- May: 20,130 units
- June: 20,416 units
Crossing the one lakh sales mark in just six months has given Hero confidence to begin expanding into international markets.

Exports tell a different story. Hero shipped 38,269 units in June, much lower than Bajaj, TVS and Honda. This makes overseas growth an important area for the company.
Selling Vida models in Nepal gives Hero another opportunity to grow its electric business outside India and reach more customers in nearby markets.
