Vinfast Enters the Indian Market

Vietnam’s top EV manufacturer, VinFast, starts building an integrated electric vehicle facility in Tamil Nadu, India.

Inauguration Ceremony Highlights

The groundbreaking ceremony, graced by dignitaries including Thiru M. K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Thiru Dr. T. R. B. Rajaa, Minister for Industries, marked the commencement of a project set to create job opportunities for approximately 3,500 local workers.

The event took place on a sprawling 400-acre site within the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial estate, emphasizing the scale and ambition of VinFast’s venture.

Investment and Capacity

With an initial investment of $500 million over five years, VinFast’s EV facility is projected to have an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

This investment not only aims to solidify VinFast’s global position but also intends to increase local economic growth by generating 3,000 to 3,500 jobs.

The company envisions a future of green transportation, backed by strategic partnerships and a focus on localization.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast India, expressed the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and job creation.
