Skoda Auto India rolled out the 1,00,001st car from its plant at Aurangabad yesterday. The milestone car turned out to be a Yeti, which is a newly launched 4×4 crossover from the Czech carmaker. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, Mr Miloslav Stasek, and Mr Stackmann, the Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Škoda Auto and Chairman of Škoda Auto India were present at the occasion. The ceremony started with a joint tree planting on the factory premises.
Škoda’s Aurangabad plant produces the Superb, Laura and the newly launched Yeti. Apart from Skoda cars, the Auangabad plant also produces Volkswagen’s Passat and Jetta, as well as Audi’s A4, A6 and Q5. All three companies VW Skoda and Audi fall under the VW Group.
Prominent industrialists, senior government officials, the Group’s board members, senior embassy officials, ŠkodaAuto India’s board members and employees were present on this occasion.
Marking the occasion, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, H E Mr Miloslav Stasek said, “This, the biggest investment in India by a Czech company, ŠkodaAuto India, has achieved incredible growth. The world class products provided by Škoda Auto India, offering high quality with a human touch, are the strongest pillar of its success.”
