Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) sold 367,226 units in May 2015 against 355,530 units in the corresponding month of 2014. Honda 2-wheelers also grew by 3% versus negative 2% of the industry.
Domestic sales: Domestic two wheeler sales reached 353,440 units, 3.3% jump over YoY in May 2014.
Exports: Honda 2-wheelers exports grew 3%, from 13,394 units to 13,786 units in May 2015.
Segment Sales: Honda’s automatic scooters witnessed a growth of 13%. Sales increased from 215,300 units in May 2015 versus 189,422 units in May 2014. Honda motorcycles sales stood at 138,140 units in May 2015 to 152,714 units last year 2014.
Honda vs. Industry: In the month of May 2015, Honda 2-wheelers domestic market share gained 1% in May 2015 to reach 26% and overall stood at 23% (dom+exports).
