Tata Motors is gearing up to welcome a new member in its family, the Hexa SUV. While we drive the Hexa in Hyderabad for a detailed review, we give a detailed review soon, let me tell you more about the upcoming SUV from the home-grown brand. For starters, Tata has announced that bookings for the model will begin from 1st November.

The company has recently launched a micro site for the Hexa ahead of its launch that will take place in the month of January next year. Visitors on the site will have the option of registering themselves following which they will receive a call from the company for further details on the Hexa.
Powering the upcoming Hexa will be Tata’s 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine. This motor produces a power output of 156 hp while the peak torque is rated at 400 Nm. This engine will come mated to either a six speed manual transmission or a six speed automatic transmission. Also on offer will be four driving modes – Comfort, Dynamic, Auto and Rough Road; a lowdown on the same can be found here.

Features on the Hexa SUV will include 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10 speaker JBL audio system, dual zone climate control, ambient lighting, projector headlamp setup, DRLs and 19 inch alloy wheels. Safety features on the model will include disc brakes on all four sides, ABS, EBD, ESP, speed sensing door locks and six airbags. The SUV will be available in six seat and seven seat configurations.
Once launched early next year, The Tata hexa will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta. It is said that the upcoming Hexa will arrive with a price tag in the range of approximately Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh. Stay tuned for a detailed review!
