Maruti Suzuki will be launching their next premium product for India – the YRA/Fronx, sometime in 2015. The YRA has again been spotted, this time in Shimla and by our dear reader Umesh Ghai. As you see, these test mules can be seen wearing some basic camouflage. The spy images reveal the carmaker testing two variants of the YRA hatchback – a lower trim, and a higher spec version.
This is a lower trim version. The one above seems like a top-end variant
In all, Maruti Suzuki is likely to offer four engines for the YRA/Fronx in India. These powerplants include three petrol engines, and one diesel motor. Beginning the line-up will be a 90bhp new K12B 1.25-litre petrol engine that will make 118 Nm of torque. The second petrol engine will be a K14B unit that’s to churn out 91bhp of power and 130 Nm of torque. The last of the petrols will be an-new 90bhp K10C Boosterjet mill. The diesel model of the Maruti Suzuki YRA/Fronx will be powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder, DDiS unit that will produce 200 Nm of twist. The power will be sent through a 5-speed manual transmission, and a CVT is likely to be offered too.
The Japanese carmaker will be launching the YRA/Fronx in India before the end of 2015. Upon launch, the premium hatchback will likely be sold only through NEXA showrooms.
