The next-generation Hyundai Elantra has started arriving at Indian dealerships before its launch next week (August 23). These images are said to be from a dealer’s yard in Ahmedabad, and give us the best look yet at the India-spec, sixth generation Elantra.

In India, the all-new Elantra will be available in six grades – S, SX, SX AT, SX(O), SX(O) AT. The newly styled exteriors feature a trapezoidal front grille with chrome accents, projector headlamps and projector fog lamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, along with a new smart boot opening feature that enables the boot to be opened from a distance of 3 feet in 3 seconds.
Inside, the India-spec Elantra will feature an all-black color theme, highlighted with dull silver finished inserts. Equipment on offer in the higher grades will include steering mounted audio/telephony controls, a welcome display, push button start, cruise control, an eight inch touchscreen equipped infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, anti pinch sunroof, rear arm rest, a 60:40 splitting rear seat, along with dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents.

The new Elantra, based on an all-new platform, will come to India with two engine options; a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 150 PS of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque, along with the existing 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, diesel engine which outputs 126 PS of maximum power and 265 Nm of peak torque. Both engines will be available with a choice of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
The new Hyundai Elantra will also come with a  three-year and unlimited mileage warranty while three home visits by the service team will also be included. The upcoming, premium mid-size sedan can hold 50 litres of fuel in one go while the boot space can accommodate 458 litres of luggage. The turning radius is said to be 5.3m while the ground clearance stands at 170 mm.
