The upcoming Ford EcoSport facelift has been spied on numerous occasions recently. The compact SUV has always appeared in a complete camouflage, hiding the necessary details during its public road test. To make things easy, some digital artists put their computers to work to digitally render the EcoSport Facelift based on spyshots. The latest spyshots of the car exhibited some design traits from its elder siblings – the Endeavour/Everest SUV and the Edge crossover.
In latest news, the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift is set for an official unveil at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. The event will be held on 8 November 2016 in Brazil. An updated Ford Ecosport was launched in the said country a while ago. The updated version is offered in two tunes of 1.6L Sigma engines and one 2.0 Duratec unit. However the upcoming facelifted Ecosport will be offered with a new 1.5L petrol unit from the Dragon engine family. Reportedly, the 1.5L units will fire out a power of around 130 horses. The 1.5L Dragon engine will not only power the Ecosport but will also be offered with the Ford Figo (Ka) and Fiesta in Brazil.
The Dragon engines will be manufactured in India as well and some of the Ford cars in India will receive them under their hoods from 2017. These engines will be developed at Ford’s Sanand plant in Gujarat. Reports suggest that there will be a 1.2L version of the engine too. The 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift will be up on sale from early 2017.
