New 2015 Volkswagen Vento Konekt 1.2 TSi Review: Tech Allure

Verdict

2015 Volkswagen Vento Konekt 1.2 TSI (19)

The Volkswagen Vento TSi is a split personality that will happily ferry you to work and back home during the weekdays, as you stay connected to your digital life, enjoying the comfort of its back seat. Even if you drive yourself, the clever DSG box will make crawling through traffic a relatively easy affair. Over the weekends, you could floor the pedal, put the sport or manual mode on the DSG box to full use, and escape to your favorite piece of tarmac, leaving boring faces behind, writing some fun driving chapters in your book. The Vento 1.2 TSi is one of those rare cars which will happily let you live your dual life. It Konekts two extreme ends, one where you play the role of a considerate, family oriented person, the other where you give a damn about everything else, let your hair loose, loosen that tie, dump the suit, twist the key, bury the accelerator and pay a visit to your younger self.

Coming to the Konekt package, it is available as an add-on for the Comfortline and Highline variants of the Vento at your nearest VW dealership. It includes the Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system priced at Rs 45,000, an 8″ tablet that retails anywhere above Rs 10,000, scuff plates all round, leatherette seats and Konekt badging. One needs to pay a premium of Rs 75,000 for all this equipment, over and above the price of Rs 9.8 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Maharashtra) which we feel is at par with what one would spend otherwise at an after market store for similar kit.
