Ford Ecosport India review (46)

The Ecosport looks the business, it drives like a dream and is powered by a peach of an engine in the Ecoboost guise. There’s more space inside than you’d imagine and the vehicle ticks almost all the boxes on a prospective buyers’ wish-list. Pricing, as always, is crucial and truly defines the value that this new product from Ford offers.

The ex-showroom prices for the Ecosport are as follows

1.5 Ti-VCT (Ambiente) 5.59 Lakh

1.5 TDCi (Ambiente) 6.69 Lakh

1.0 Ecoboost Titanium 7.89 Lakh

1.5 Ti-VCT Powershift 8.44 Lakh

At those prices, there is absolutely no argument against the Ecosport. It’s a no-brainer, and for any of the engines or variants, you just have to consider this model if you are buying into the Rs 6-10 lakh segment. A terrific value for money proposition!

Ford EcoSport (Goa, India)

It would be tough to pass the final verdict without knowing the price. We’d wait for the first week of June when the price of car will be announced and bookings will open. In the meantime, here’s a quick list of the high and low points of the car

Highlights

  • Great overall package
  • Sporty exterior design
  • Handles really well, one of the most fun-to-drive mainstream cars around
  • Amazing engine – gearbox combo, with more options available
  • More spacious on the inside, than it appears looking at it from the outside
  • Functional, built to last interior which is comfortable and feature rich

Lowlights

  • Diminutive size may put off a few customers who are looking for girth
  • Plastic quality in the cabin isn’t too great
  • Rear seat ideal only for two

  1. We heard a few other people expressing concern about the headlight intensity and throw looking at the slim shaped headlamps. We’ll try and gather some information on the same.

  2. Thanks for the reply Amit. My concern comes from driving Figo for past 2 years, and headlamp throw is real bad.

  3. Dear Ashok. Firstly thanks for the appreciation. We didnt get a chance to drive the car during night. We knew that this aspect has not been covered but there was no way we could have helped it.

  4. Whether I like the car or not, I certainly like the review, its coverage and photographer’s skill. Kudos 🙂

  5. Firstly, best review to date on motoroids.
Absolutely covered everything. One thing i wanted to know if you had a chance to drive it in the night time, and how good/bad the headlamps are. Are they adequate enough?
