One of the electric vehicle OEMs, Zen Mobility has launched its first electric pod in India. The electric pod is simply a 3-wheeler cargo LEV (Light Electric Vehicle) which runs on electric propulsion.
However, the main aim of launching this electric pod is to establish a benchmark of innovative design and engineering in the Indian Automotive Industry.
About Zen Electric Pod
Zen Mobility has launched a 3-wheeler electric pod that is built for various purposes like cargo transportation. This electric pod is available in 2 variants – the R5x and the R10x. The payload capacity of the Zen LEV pod stands at 150kgs which is 2.5 times more than a conventional vehicle. Moreover, this electric pod consumes just 4 units of electricity for transportation purposes and gets fully charged in 2 hours.
The Zen Micro Pod’s lightweight technology uses less motor power to provide the same output, reducing battery and delivery expenses. This electric pod offers a convenient ride and easy manoeuvrability in congested city streets. Rider safety has been taken into consideration while designing the vehicle’s braking system, which offers smooth and efficient braking.
The versatility of Zen Electric Pod
The Zen Micro Pod comes with a separate cargo box that can be configured to match specific needs. The cargo box can be transformed into shelves, chilled bins, open tubs, etc. These storage cabinets are designed with a safe locking mechanism to ensure maximized security from theft. Furthermore, the pod has convenient fleet management features, innovative drive-train and vehicle details.
This pod delivers fleet organisations with effective features such as vehicle tracking, charging status, geofencing, and remote locking. Zen Mobility claims that this Micro Pod offers a cost-effective option over the convenient 3-wheeler cargo vehicles. The minimum cost per delivery and total cost of ownership of this pod ensure maximum peace of mind.
Production Status
Zen Mobility is committed to providing services to the B2B sector, particularly for last-mile delivery. Third-party logistics providers, last-mile service providers, e-commerce, and supermarket delivery firms are among the clients. A production line with a capacity of 100,000 vehicles per year has been created in Manesar by the firm.
Moreover, the company has already received 10,000 orders from various businesses. The firm will start mass manufacturing in June 2023 and has the capability to handle rising market demand.
