The Yamaha YZF-R15 can be safely credited with bringing Indian bike aficionados closer to world class motorcycling. We have nothing but great things to say about the way the R15 handles and the bike is known to have created hardcore motorcyclists out of rookies. The Yamaha YZF-R15 is regular at most Indian motorcycle racing tracks that we have in the country. The bike is also the favorite of those who need an entry level sportsbike to hone their cornering skills.
While the bike has won a lot accolades for its handling prowess, we have always felt that the bike could have done with some more horses. We have good news for you if this is exactly what you too have been thinking about.
The boffins at Red Rooster Performance, a South India based tuners, are busy developing a turbocharger kit for the Yamaha YZF R15. This turbo can be bolted on to the R15 V1 and V2 and as can be seen in the pics, would come with performance enhancing bits such as a free flow exhaust. It may be noted that this is the first time that a popular India-based tuner has decided to come up with a turbo kit for the R15.
While we keep hearing about some Chinese tuners who offer turbo kits for sub 200cc bikes, it would be really interesting to see an Indian tuner offering a turbo kit for a 150cc motorcycle. What would be even more interesting is to see how reliable would the setup be.
The Red Rooster Performance turbo kit for R15 is in final stages of development and would be launched sometime soon.
