The Indian subsidiary of Yamaha will launch a new product on January 7. The bike maker has refrained from giving out any details of its upcoming vehicle and all that the press invite reads is – “Yamaha gears up to unveil a new chapter”.
While a new product launch has always been welcomed by us, we aren’t too happy about the fact that Yamaha India won’t launch the eagerly awaited R25 in India anytome soon.
So what does it plan to launch, you may ask. Well, our guess seems to be as good as yours!
Speaking of guesswork, there are good chances of Yamaha planning to do another ‘Hero MotoCorp’ and launching yet another Special Edition of one of its current products. Unfortunately, Special Edition is what the manufacturers here refer to their stickerjobs as.
Yamaha earlier hinted that it would soon come up with a new bargain-basement commuter bike for our country and the 7th January event may see the unveiling of this upcoming product.
Either a not-so-special Special Edition of one of its existing products OR a new entry level motorcycle, either of these could be introduced to us on January 7.
As for the R25 India launch, all is not lost and the bike is most likely to greet us in its concept avatar at the Auto Expo 2014.
