Volvo Cars finishes fourth when the British insurance agency Warranty Direct lists the most reliable engine manufacturers.

​Warranty Direct has compiled a list of how often insurance companies will step in and cover the repair costs for various engine damage. In Volvo’s case the figure is 1 in 111, which corresponds to an error rate of 0.9. Best of all manufacturers is Honda, with the rate 1 in 344.

Worst of all automakers are MG Rover, followed by Audi. The likelihood of engine damage for Audi owners are 1 in 27, which corresponds to 3.71 percent.
