Czech automaker Skoda is fast getting aggressive with its operations and is in the process of comprehensively updating its product line up.

We have already reported in detail about the upcoming 2013 Skoda Octavia and the Skoda Superb facelift and now we have a speculative rendering that gives us a hint of what the new Fabia would look like. We also have more details about the upcoming generation of Fabia.

The current generation of the Fabia has been soldiering on since six years now and it is high time that Skoda Autos comes out with a totally new model to compete in the very competitive hatchback segment.

The 2014 Skoda Fabia will look very unlike the current generation and will borrow design cues from the Rapid and the 2013 Octavia.

The car will sport a totally new front fascia that will be in line with Skoda’s new family look. The typical Skoda grille, rectangular headlamps, distinctive Skoda crest on the hood and clean and clutter free surfaces will ensure that the new car will unmistakably be a modern Skoda. The 2014 Skoda Fabia, in usual Skoda fashion, will be understated yet chic.

The 2014 Skoda Fabia will be based on the much publicized MQB platform that will endow the new car with class leading road manners. The new car will also be more spacious and will have better performance and fuel efficiency figures.

Talking about performance, the new car will be powered by a range of TSI turbo petrol and TDI turbo diesel motors that will come from the VW group.

The all new 2014 Skoda Fabia is expected to make its public debut in second half of this year and would go on sale in European markets in early 2014.
