Volvo Auto India launches ‘Volvo World Golf Challenge’ at the Chandigarh Golf Club on June 2nd, 2012

Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Auto India brings the Maharaja of corporate golf ‘Volvo World Golf Challenge’ (VWGC) to India in 7 cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Pune. The first Tee off is in Chandigarh, at the Chandigarh Golf Club on June 2nd, 2012. The tournament, which will follow PGTI Players Championship, will see top amateurs from the corporate and industrial world competing.

Expressing his excitement, Sudeep Narayan, Marketing & PR Director, Volvo Auto India said, “When we joined hands with PGTI earlier this year, we had envisioned a world-class golf season with VWGC in India. Nothing could give us more pleasure than seeing this dream translate into reality. Golf is an integral part of targeting top 5% high net-worth individuals in India and our global platform of VWGC is an effective tool for engaging with customers and prospects as an extension of the ‘ Designed Around You’ strategy.”

“An added attraction to this tournament is the winner’s trophy. Each trophy is a hand-made work of art by enormously talented blown glass artist Atul Bakshi. Atul’s creation beautifully cascades Volvo’s Scandinavian style and design elements.”  He added.

Trophy designer and blown glass artist, Atul Bakshi, said “It is indeed a privilege for me to be associated with a company like Volvo Auto India, which truly understands my Scandinavian style of art. I am honoured to be presented this opportunity by Volvo to showcase my work in India and at such a prestigious platform. I could not have asked for a better source of inspiration than Volvo itself.”

Volvo Auto India will be the Official Automobile Partner for all PGTI-sanctioned professional events this year.
