Volkswagen India today introduced the new Polo SR into the rapidly growing Indian car market.
The SR might be an attempt to boost the sales of the petrol variant and is available with the 1.2 litre petrol engine only. The new Polo SR comes loaded with features and has a sticker price of INR 6.27 lakhs.
The Volkswagen Polo SR comes equipped with body skirts, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tip, chrome strip on the front grille and SR badges. The SR is based on the top-of-the-line Highline variant and gets features like dual front airbags, ABS, climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, multi-information display, 2-dic RCD320 audio system with AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, rear wiper, rear parking sensors, 15-inch alloy wheels, and front & rear fog lights.
The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Polo SR has a max power output of 75 BHP@ 5400 RPM and a peak torque figure of 110 Nm @ 3750 RPM. The 3 pot motor is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox that allows slick shifts and bestows the car with sufficient performance for city runabouts.
