Volkswagen India have announced that dual front airbags will come as standard fitment on all variants of the Polo. The move makes Volkswagen the first carmaker in India to offer dual front airbags as standard equipment in the mainstream hatchback segment. In addition, Volkswagen is also offering anti-lock brakes (ABS) as standard fitment on the Comfortline version of the Polo.

The company also announced an increase in the prices of the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan. A 2.7% price hike on all variants of the Polo and Vento will be effective 1st February 2014. The price hike will amount to Rs 22,700 for the Polo and up to Rs 26,800 for the Vento. VW has attributed the price increase to high input costs and changes in the exchange rate, Volkswagen has announced
