The all-new Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI BlueMotion for Europe has been unveiled. And thanks to improved aerodynamics, low resistance tires, a lowered ride height, regenerative braking and a transmission with longer gear ratios, this new Polo variant does a commendable 24.4 kmpl and spews just 94 grams of CO2 per kilometer!

Visual differences are all in favor for better aerodynamics, which includes a revised, blocked-out, single slit grille, new wheels and a slightly re-worked rear spoiler with subtle extensions.

With diesel prices on the boil internationally, this is the first time for Volkswagen when the BlueMotion technology meets a petrol powered unit.Under the hood, the Polo comes with a 1.0 liter gasoline engine with 95 horsepower and 160 Nm peak of torque. In spite of it’s frugal characteristics. top speed is rated at an optimistic 190 km/hr, while the car will 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds.

The new Polo 1.0 TSI BlueMotion has a starting price of 15.925 Euros, which translates to about Rs. 12.3 lakh INR.

  1. This car makes tremendous sense in India. I will sell my i20 (i am petrol head) and would buy this piece. Bring it VW. I am waiting.
