Decathlon Expands Rockrider Range With Three New Bicycles in India

A weekend ride can mean different things to different cyclists. For one individual, it may be a short ride around the neighbourhood. For another, it may mean finding a rough trail and spending a few hours away from busy roads. Decathlon is now adding three new bicycles to its Rockrider Explore range with these different riding needs in mind.

The new models are EXPL 10, EXPL 20 and EXPL 140. All three are made in India. The EXPL 140 is the biggest highlight as it is Decathlon’s first 29 inch mountain bike made in India.

Three bikes for different rides

The EXPL 10 is the simplest bike in the new range. It gets a light aluminium frame that weighs around 2.25kg. The 660mm handlebar and all weather tyres are meant to make regular city rides easy. It has a single speed setup and caliper brakes at both ends. Buyers can choose a high frame or low frame version.

The EXPL 20 adds more comfort and equipment. It uses a steel frame with internal cable routing, a wider saddle and padded comfort grips. It also gets a 660mm handlebar and mechanical disc brakes. The bike is made for everyday fitness rides and light trails.

For riders who want a more serious mountain bike, there is the EXPL 140. It uses an aluminium hardtail frame. A 100mm hydraulic fork handles suspension duties. The bike also gets 10 speed Shimano CUES gearing, trigger shifters and disc brakes.

Decathlon says the Explore range was developed using research on Indian riders, including body shape, riding habits and local terrain. Frame geometry, handlebar width, saddle design and testing were considered for the Indian market.

The company also says more than 97 percent of the bicycles sold in India are made in India. Its bicycle production work in the country started 26 years ago with exports of bicycle components.

The three bikes are available at select Decathlon stores and through the company website. Decathlon says the launch also matches interest in active travel. An Ipsos India Mobility Report 2026 says 65 percent of Indians use walking or cycling to stay active, with bicycles making up 6 percent of daily mobility choices. The range gives buyers a clear step up from a basic city bicycle to a more capable trail machine.
