Vishnu Prasad wins JK Racing India Series championship for second time in a row

The final round of the 17th JK Tyre Racing India series championship concluded at the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday as Vishnu Prasad emerged as the champion for second time in a row. Prasad won the championship with 104 points, followed by Akhil Rabindra with 88 points and Ananth Shanmugam in third with 55 points.

In the Volkswagen Polo R Cup, the championship remained open till the last race. In the end, Ameya Bafna, who won the second race on Saturday, emerged as the winner in the final race of the season. Karthik Tharani, who waged a grim battle with the winner till the end, had to settle for second place, which was enough to give him the championship with 358 points. Lee Keshav Gupta, who started the weekend as one of the championship contenders, came home in third place.

The final race of the JK Formula LGB F4 was lead by Diljith TS with 98 points followed by Vishnu Prasad with 76 points and Sudarshana Rao K with 52 points. The JK Superbikes Cup was won by Manmeet Singh with 24 points followed by Gurvinder Singh with 20 points and Aashir Agrawal with 18 points.

Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director JK Tyres and Industries said, “We have seen some great racing throughout the year. It was very heartening to see these young driver fight right to end. Seeing them go out there and race their hearts out gives us immense pleasure. I congratulate all the winner and also those who make this championship possible. As the 17th season of the JK Tyre Racing Championship came to an end, we have already started looking forward to next year.”
