Popular German luxury car maker Mercedes is definitely readying itself to take the luxury car market, all over the world, by storm. Mercedes Benz recently launched the all new S Class sedan and the German premium car maker has a line up of new car launches lined up for near future. While the mighty new S Class will be seen giving sleepless nights to various rivalling car manufacturers, the upcoming CLA Class sedan and the upcoming 2015 C Class could be seen at the top of the entry level luxury car segment in near future.
The next gen Mercedes Benz C-Class will be larger than the current car and this means that the 2015 C Class would be considerably bigger than the upcoming CLA Class, which is poised to take the mantle of the new entry level sedan in Mercedes’ line uo of cars.
Plenty of speculations later, we seem to have some concrete info on the next gen C Class. The new C will be as much as 70 kgs lighter and will have considerably more leg space for the rear passengers, along with having a larger boot. The styling of the next C will be in line with the latest models from the Stuttgart based luxury car maker and would take some design cues from the CLA. However, the car is sure to look more matured and understated than the sporty looking CLA.
The entry level petrol variant, C180, will be powered by a 154 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The diesel variant could get a Renault sourced low capacity oil burner. The AMG variant is likely to be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 that will have a max power output of 455 hp. A plug in hybrid electric (PHEV) might also be on the cards.
