The all-new 2015 Audi R8 has already show itself to the world in pictures, Now, Audi has released a video clip, which shows the new R8 V10 Plus dancing around the track. How do we know it’s a ‘Plus’? It’s the fixed spoiler at the back.
The V-10 engine, a 5.2-liter unit shared with it’s Italian cousin, the Lamborghini Huracán, sounds glorious, and keeps the signature Gallardo/R8 howl intact. The second generation R8 V10, not only produces more power – with 601 bhp in the ‘Plus’ guise, than the previous iteration, but also comes with a more advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system and a revised 7-speed dual clutch transmission to make gear changes faster, more smoother.
An all electric R8 e-tron version 2.0 is also on its way, and armed with a 92 kWh battery pack, it makes 462hp and a ludicrous 920 Nm of torque – that’s 361 Nm over the V10 Plus’s output, more than a Tata Safari makes!
Styling on the 2015 R8 is purely evolutionary. The iconic side blades from the original R8 have now become two-piece units, while optional LED headlamps jewel up the squatter front fascia, which features Audi’s Singleframe grille. The new car will also be wider, lighter, yet, shorter than the outgoing R8.
