Detroit-based auto giant Chevrolet, has announced an all-new generation of its popular muscle car, the Camaro. Dubbed the sixth generation, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be officially unveiled at the carmaker’s hometown. Chevrolet is yet to release official pictures of their new beast, but they have been kind enough to its followers by releasing an audio clip. This audio clip has the muscle car roaring and snarling, so its a symphony of V8 goodness.

The current Camaro can be had with a massive 6.2-litre normally aspirated V8, making 426 horses and almost 570 Nm of torque. Best part, you can have this muscle car with a proper 6-speed manual gearbox. And to keep fuel conscious motorists happy, there’s another V8 engine (making slightly less horses) that employs intelligent cylinder deactivation. So if you are not hammering the accelerator pedal, the Camaro will shut down four of its eight cylinders to save fuel. Talking of saving fuel, the 2016 model is to much lighter than the outgoing Camaro and will have some design tweaks to go along with its “all-new” badge.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be revealed at the Belle Isle island park and will have up to 1000 people attending the event. These people will have the chance to witness the new beast from Deroit in all its glory plus, will be able to visit the Camaro Museum. The best part for many enthusiasts will be the hot-lap rides around the Grand Prix course in the 2015 Camaro Z/28, we are sure many will be clamouring for that. For those of you who love V8s, including us, the below video is pure music for the ears. Chevrolet might chuck in a four-pot turbocharged motor for the base variant of the Camaro, but that won’t sound anywhere as good as the thumping V8. Anyway, it is a welcome addition for those who prioritise frugality over outright power and drama of the eight cylinder. The details of the mechanicals and performance of the new car, are yet to be disclosed. Till then, have a listen to the video clip and if possible, rev up the volume to crazy. Enjoy!
