VIDEO: Ferrari 488 GTO Teased Ahead Of Debut At 2018 Geneva Motor Show

Less than a month ago, specifications of the upcoming Ferrari 488 GTO were leaked on the web during the brand’s annual dealer meet. Details of the model, which could also be christened as the 488 Speciale, as well as images of the model revealed a number of crucial details. Now, an official teaser video of this upcoming model from the Italian marquee has been revealed.

As seen in the teaser video, the Ferrari 488 GTO is ripping the tracks at the company’s track located in Maranello, Italy. It is believed that the 488 GTO will be unveiled at at 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Visually, the model will feature full length body stripes, lightweight carbon wheels (first for a production car), dual exhaust system and a large rear diffuser.

Ferrari even chose to give us a quick glimpse of the 488 GTO’s interiors which reveals a few details such as the Alcantara wrapped steering wheel with integrated LED shift lights and alloy pedals. A few highlights of the car, which have not been officially revealed by Ferrari, include lighter carbon elements such as the front bumper, engine hood, rear bumper, spoiler, dashboard, door under cover, interior door panels and rear diffuser.

At the heart of this new Ferrari will be the most powerful V8 engine from the brand yet, which is believed to produce more than 700 hp. Compared to the previous versions, the V8 motor on the Ferrari 488 GTO will be 10 lighter in weight. Ferrari will also apply a few tweaks to the design of the model, which will result in a 20% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency over the 488 GTB which it is based on.
