After recruiting a long list of fuel guzzlers, Dubai police has decided to go green, but in style. After having performance cars from manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley, Dubai police have added a hybrid vehicle to its exotic fleet, the new BMW i8.

The new BMW i8 is part of the Bavarian car maker’s “i” project that has been setup to explore sustainable mobility solutions. The BMW i8 is powered by a hybrid drive-train which is a combination of a 131 bhp electric motor clubbed with a BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 232 bhp. The combined output of both these motors stands at 362 hp. The power propels the i8 from naught to 100 kph in just 4.4 seconds. In fact, on battery power alone, the BMW i8 can achieve top speed of 120 kph with a maximum range of 35 kilometres.
