[VIDEO] BMW M235i vs. Lexus IS F – Its V8 versus inline-6 in this drag race

The new 2014 BMW M235i and the Lexus IS F do not really seem to be rivals, at least not when you compare a quick spec sheet comparison of both these models. While the Japanese sports sedan is powered by a mighty V8 petrol engine that has a max power of 423 HP and peak torque of 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque, found under the hood of the Bimmer is an inline-6 3.0 liter turbocharged engine that has a max power of 326 HP (240 kW) and a peak torque of 450 Nm (322 lb-ft).

However, this video here by The Fast Lane Car team once again proves that there is more to a car than just its spec sheets and power figures. While the Lexus might look like a clear winner when comparing the spec sheets and the power figures, factors such as turbocharging and lighter weight can lead to surprising results, especially in a drag race. Check out the video and do let us know what you feel about all of it by penning your thoughts in the comments section below. Enjoy!

The 2014 BMW M235i and the Lexus IS F don’t really compete, at least on paper. The Japanese sports sedan has a mighty V8 unit with 423 HP and 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque, while the Bimmer sports an inline-6 turbo 3.0-liter unit with 326 HP (240 kW) and 450 Nm (322 lb-ft).

A video by The Fast Lane Car team is here to prove the power figures are not always important when it comes to drag racing. Lighter body and turbocharging is what matters in this one.
