The new 2014 BMW M235i and the Lexus IS F do not really seem to be rivals, at least not when you compare a quick spec sheet comparison of both these models. While the Japanese sports sedan is powered by a mighty V8 petrol engine that has a max power of 423 HP and peak torque of 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque, found under the hood of the Bimmer is an inline-6 3.0 liter turbocharged engine that has a max power of 326 HP (240 kW) and a peak torque of 450 Nm (322 lb-ft).

While the Lexus might look like a clear winner when comparing the spec sheets and the power figures, factors such as turbocharging and lighter weight can lead to surprising results, especially in a drag race.
