After making numerous appearances in teasers and spy images, the Bentley Bentyaga now has been filmed undergoing hot weather testing in Dubai. The Bentley Bentyaga is the first SUV from the VW group uber-luxury car maker which will take on the likes of the top-of-the-line Range Rover and the upcoming crossover from Rolls Royce.
Previewed by the EXP 9 F concept, Bentley says that the model will be the “most luxurious and powerful SUV on the market” and when configured with the W12 engine it will be the “fastest SUV on sale.” It will be followed in 2017 by a plug-in hybrid version which they expect to be the best-selling version as almost 30 percent of potential buyers have expressed their desire to go for the hybrid. The V12 mill is expected to churn out more than 542 bhp and over 700 Nm of twist, enabling it to sprint from naught to 100 kmph in under 5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of over 273 kmph.
The first SUV from the Crewe based car maker will ride on the MLB Evo platform. Apart from the massive 6.0-liter W12 and plug-in hybrid setup (offering 30 miles electric range), Bentley will also likely offer it with a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter. Also available will be a 4.2-liter V8 TDI sourced from Audi.
Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer has already stated that it will be more expensive than current high-end SUVs and will carry an estimated starting price of around £130,000 when it goes on sale next year. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the Bentley Bentayga SUV.
