Audi won’t quit playing teasing games with its upcoming Q2, with the German manufacturer releasing the second video teaser of its luxury compact SUV. The Q2 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Positioned below the Q3, the Q2 will take the total number of Q models to 4. The debut is scheduled to take place next week.
The Q2 will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform that underpins the A3 as well. This luxury compact SUV will come with a series of four cylinder, turbocharged diesel and petrol engines having a capacity of 1.4 to 2.0 litres. Transmission options will include a 6 speed manual gearbox, a 6 speed S-tronic gearbox and a 7 speed S-tronic gearbox. The conventional Quattro four wheel drive will come as an optional feature.
Styling features will be inspired from its elder sibling, the new Q7 and would include a trapezoidal single frame grille apart from hard lines and firm surfacing based on the company’s design for utility vehicles. The teaser video reveals the signature LED DRLs and comes with the tagline “#untaggable, the new Q2.”
The Q2 is expected to arrive in India later this year and would carry an estimated price tag of Rs. 25 lakh. Once launched, it would compete with the Mini Cooper Countryman.
