The car was launched along with the facelift XC60. Commenting on the launch, Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said, “Taking our philosophy of ‘Designed Around You’ a step further, we have the New Generation S60 & XC60 for our esteemed customers with changes designed around their comfort and need. We have focused on quality and attention to detail in order to give these dynamic models a major boost and sharpen their competitiveness. We have been listening very carefully to our customers to make improvements and ensure that we make these successful cars even more attractive. When it comes to safety we’re always a step ahead and a lot safer. The City Safety feature from 30km/h has been advanced to 50km/h. Scandinavian design is exemplified by beautiful, simple shapes and surfaces with any unnecessary clutter removed. This is evident in the redesigned interior and exterior of the new 60 cars. Inside, the attention to detail, the authentic materials – such as wood and leather – and the easy-to-use controls contribute to the in-command driving experience. Supportive yet comfortable seats that ensure a fresh and relaxed arrival after the longest of journeys have been Volvo’s strength for decades.

The 2014 Volvo S60 sports mildly refreshed styling, that works well with infusing some freshness into more than 3 years old car. The 3 series rivalling S60 sedan gets a new front fascia and a longer features list.

We believe that the designers at Volvo have done a good job with bestowing the car with a fresher look and it seems like the car would continue to impress us with its looks for another few years. Inclusion of new features such as paddle shifts would ensure that the car would appeal to the driving enthusiasts.
