Porsche has launched the most powerful version of its luxury four door saloon- the 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S.
Powered by a 4.8L bi-turbo V8, the 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S produces a max of 561 bhp (570 ps)- an increment of 20ps over the earlier Panamera S and peak torque is also bumped up to 750 nm (available between 2250 – 5000 rpm)- which with an overboost feature can be further pepped up to a momentary 800 nm (phew!) for breezy overtaking. The 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S houses 2 new turbochargers, larger compressors, uprated injectors, pistons made from a new aluminium alloy and specially coated piston rings.
On the exterior, the new S Turbo gets a revised front bumper incorporating bigger air-intakes and redesigned LED headlights. At the rear, the larger window has been stretched within the tailgate and sports a new bumper with a body coloured 4 way spoiler.
There is also an executive version on offer with an extended wheelbase of 150mm adding more space for rear seated passengers.
Other bits include the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system, race derived Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive damper control and adaptive air suspension with additional air volume and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system transferring optimum torque to all four wheels in the trickiest of driving conditions.
Talking of performance figures, the new Porsche hits 0-96 kph (0-60 mph) in 3.6 seconds and maxes out at a top speed of 309 kph.
Scheduled to make its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next month, the Panamera Turbo S will be available at a base price of $180,300 and the Panamera Turbo S Executive at of $200,500 (excluding delivery charges).
