UM Global, which is currently busy extending its reach in the country with new dealerships across India, is also working on a new V-Twin engine. In a recent interview, Rajeev Mishra, Director Operations UM India & CEO at UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd said that the two-wheeler maker will reveal a new 400cc liquid cooled engine which will be first seen on an adventure motorcycle.
At a press conference held in September 2016, the two-wheeler maker suggested that the brand will introduce the Renegade Classic in the first quarter of FY2017-18. Following the Renegade Classic would be a new product from a completely different platform that is scheduled to arrive in July-August 2017. Moreover, the end of 2017 or early 2018 is reserved for a dual purpose motorcycle which will go head-on against the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the likes. The motorcycle, as suggested by Mishra in the latest interview, will arrive by October-November 2017 unless there are unavoidable circumstances in which case the new product will presented at the 2018 Auto Expo.
