The Swift has to be among the most successful of models to have come from Suzuki in recent times. Not only has the Maruti Suzuki Swift ruling over the sales charts in India, the car has been doing pretty well in most parts of Europe.
One such important car market for the Swift is that of the United Kingdom.
With competition growing by the day, Suzuki needs to keep the buzz around the Swift and it seems like the Japanese manufacturer is doing just that! The car maker recently launched the new Swift 4×4 in UK car market. The new Suzuki Swift 4×4 has already been on sale in Germany and Switzerland and will also be launched in Russia in near future.
The Swift 4×4 is powered by the 1.2-liter K Series diesel engine (K12) and the motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There is no auto ‘box on offer. The 4WD system of the Swift 4×4 can send additional torque to the rear wheels only when required. The 4×4 makes the car 65kg heavier but a lot more capable on rough terrain. The slight off road capabilities are also courtesy of an additional 25mm ground clearance.
The Swift 4×4 goes on sale in 2 variants- SZ3 or SZ4.
The more loaded SZ4 variant comes with daytime running lights, front and rear skid plates, black colored (plastic?) cladding on the wheel arches and side skirts. The SZ4 variant also gets power folding feature for the ORVMs.
The new Swift 4×4 goes for sale in UK for a starting price of £11,516. The fully loaded SZ4 can be yours for £13,116. The car will be seen battling it out against the Volkswagen CrossPolo.
