For a sustainable future, Uber has also announced a series of partnerships mentioned below:

Fleet Partner Expansion: Uber is working on expanding the fleet network by inviting more partners. With this expansion, the company is aiming for the growth of EV ride-sharing customers. Various companies like Lithium Urban Technologies, Everest Fleet Private Limited, and Moove, are expected to deploy 25,000 vehicles. They will deploy the vehicles in the top 7 cities of the country for the growth of EVs.

2-Wheeler EV Partnership: Uber is geared up for a partnership with EV service startup Zypp Electric for deploying 10,000 electric 2-wheelers by 2024. This partnership is aimed towards promoting sustainable mobility in its Uber Moto category.

EV Financing: An MoU was signed by the Uber and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for easing up vehicle purchases. The aim of this partnership is to provide affordable loans to their EV ride partners and the transition to clean mobility. It will contribute to an environmental shift from high-emission fuel vehicles to no or low-tailpipe-emission vehicles.

EV Charging Infrastructure: Uber is on the verge of signing more partnerships in the field of EV charging infrastructure. The partnership will be likely with the Jio-BP and GMR Green Energy. This partnership will allow the drivers to provide access to charging station networks and contribute to EV infrastructure development.

Official Statement

Commenting at the event, Andrew Macdonald, Senior Vice President, Mobility and Business Operations at Uber, said, “India’s huge scale and electrification momentum makes the country a priority for Uber as we seek to meet our commitment to electrify every ride on our platform by 2040. Today, we are taking a major step toward that goal with the launch of Uber Green. We know that our impact goes beyond technology. We are determined to become allies of cities and governments as they seek to combat climate change and pollution through sustainable mobility.”
