TVS Shows its Velocity 160 concept at Jakarta Motorcycle Show

TVS recently showed their Velocity 160 concept at the Kakarta Motorcycle Show. A modified version of their Apace RTR 160, the Velocity concept also looks somewhat similar to the popular Yamaha FZ16 sold in India, especially from the front. Apart from sharing similarities with the Yammies, the Velocity also employs the sabre-tooth design element witnessed on some of the recently launched Hondas in India in the design of its tank panel. This street-fighter avatar of the Apache RTR 160 has huge front petal disc brakes, upside down forks, a non-faired front, wide tyres and wait for it, a rear mono-shock as the hallmarks of its design.
The streetfighter concept has been shown so as to gauge the initial reaction of the Indonesian public towards such a design. Its notable that Honda and Yamaha have recently introduced similar street-fighter styled bikes in the Indonesian market recently, and the velocity concept is TVS’ way to respond.

The front tyres on the Velocity 160 concept are Battlax 120/70-17, while rear alloys are wrapped in 150/60-17 Battleax rubber. The monoshock unit at the rear is said to be a YSS unit.
Benny Yuniardi Widiatmoko, GM TVSMCI Marketing Group said, “This is a streetfighter concept of TVS Indonesia to see the market reaction on the design of this bike”
