TVS Set to Launch New Electric Two-Wheeler

TVS readies for an electric two-wheeler reveal in 3 months. CEO Radhakrishnan’s hints fuel excitement among enthusiasts and buyers.

Impressive Sales Growth Sets the Stage

TVS has recently experienced a surge in the sales of its electric two-wheelers, with a notable increase from 29,000 units to an impressive 48,000 units in the last quarter.

This robust growth underscores the growing interest and acceptance of electric vehicles in the Indian market.

The CEO’s Teaser

During the investor call, when questioned about the specifics of the new electric model, Radhakrishnan remained tight-lipped about the brand but assured that the upcoming EV would be designed to “satisfy customer needs.”

Unveiling the iQube ST Variant?

While no concrete details were divulged, speculation is rife that the awaited launch might be the long-anticipated iQube ST variant.

The iQube ST, initially delayed due to changes in the Indian EV landscape and reduced FAME subsidy, seems poised for a 2024 debut, as hinted during the TVS MotoSoul festival last year.

The iQube ST

If the speculation holds true, the iQube ST brings a fusion of innovation and performance. It boasts a 4.56kWh battery with a claimed 145km IDC range. The battery, supported by a 950W charger, achieves an 80 percent charge in 4 hours and 6 minutes.

Notably, the iQube ST stands out as the only variant in the iQube lineup with fast-charging capability at 1.5kW. The hub-mounted motor, consistent with the base iQube and iQube S, promises an enhanced top speed, increased from 78kph to 82kph.

What We Think

As the countdown begins for TVS’s much-anticipated electric two-wheeler, enthusiasts and potential buyers eagerly await the official unveiling. The surge in electric vehicle sales, coupled with the CEO’s hints, makes this launch a significant moment for the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
