TVS Apache RTR 200 4V wins the 2017 Indian Motorcycle Of The Year (IMOTY) award

The TVS Apache RTR 2004V was announced as the winner of the Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2017. The award was presented to the winning team by Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre and Industries, and Aspi Bathena, Chairman, IMOTY 2017.

This year’s awards judged the best motorcycle from a number of new launches witnessed throughout the year. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, winner of IMOTY’17 was picked among a list of able contenders, and stood out for its performance and style. The model had to battle it out with 11 other motorbikes. Assessments were made on the basis of agreed parameters like price, fuel economy, styling, comfort, safety, performance, practicality, technological innovation, value for money and suitability for Indian riding conditions.

Congratulating the winners, Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries, said, “It’s been a decade since the first IMOTY Awards were instituted to honour achievements and excellence in the Indian automobile industry. Today, these Awards have set benchmarks for Indian automakers, egging them on to put in their best foot forward and deliver vehicles, which capture the nation’s imagination in all ways possible. This is a deserving recognition of the efforts they have put to bring out the best-in-class motorcycles. Accepting the award, Arun Siddharth, Vice-President Marketing, TVS Motors, said that they are honoured and privileged that the TVS RTR 200 4V has been picked as the Motorcycle of the Year today. Their team of engineers and designers have worked day and night, going through prototypes, envisaging all kinds of conditions to bring out this machine. They did not stress much on specs, in fact, the success of the bike could not have been determined without customers buying it. Having IMOTY’ gives them the impetus to put in even more, and hopefully, they will be back to take the awards next year.
