Volkswagen, the renowned German automaker will soon be updating its compact SUV Taigun with a new special Trail edition. The ‘Taigun GT Edge Trail’ is likely to go on sale tomorrow November 2, 2023. Here is all that you need to know about this variant of the German SUV.
Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition: What does it get you?
The Trail edition, aimed to draw customers looking for a rugged & adventurous SUV, will feature functional roof rails giving it more accessibility. It will come with black-painted 17-inch wheels with red brake calipers as showcased earlier in April of this year.
Additionally, VW will include a few cosmetic add-ons like a black roof & a ‘Trail’ inspired body side graphics on the rear fenders. A teaser shared by the brand also shows that the SUV will get a ‘Trail’ badging on its tailgate.

Moving inside, the seats of the Taigun will come laden in black leatherette upholstery with red piping and stitching. You’re also likely to find the word ‘Trail’ embossed over the leatherette seats. To further accentuate the sporty appeal, the Trail edition will bring red ambient lighting along with metal pedals to the package.
Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition: Other Specifications
The Trail Edition of the MQB SUV is powered by the same 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that powers the regular Taigun GT Edge. The engine produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, and comes mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is expected to be priced at a premium over the regular Taigun GT Edge due to the added features and accessories. However, VW plans to offer a more unique and exclusive ownership experience to takers of the special edition.
