Our team is currently en route to Bengaluru to test drive the new Toyota Yaris. The upcoming sedan will be launched in the Indian market on April 18, 2018 and a few Toyota dealers have already begun accepting bookings for the Yaris against an amount of INR 50,000. While our team works on a detailed text and video review of the new Toyota Yaris, we thought we’d give you quick introduction of the India bound, mid-size sedan along with a detailed walkaround video that we shot at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Mechanical specifications will include a 1.5-litre petrol engine which will be the only engine option available at the time of the launch. This motor will be tuned to produce maximum power output of 106 hp and peak torque of 140 Nm. Transmission options will include a six speed manual unit as standard while a seven speed CVT unit with paddle shifters will be available as an option.
List of a segment first features will include hand gesture control for the instrument cluster, electrically adjustable driver seat, ambient lighting, roof mounted HVAC vents for the second row and a 4.2 inch TFT MID cluster.
