Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 9,160 units in Mar 2014 compared to 21,143 units in Mar 2013. The company exported 954 units of Etios series last month.
In the domestic market TKM sold 8,206 units in Mar 2014 as compared to 19,452 units in Mar 2013.
Mr. N Raja, Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing said “We started limited operations from March 18, 2014, with the help of our non – unionized team members, majority of whom are supervisors.”
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is close to launching the all new, latest generation, of its popular D segment sedan, the Corolla. The new Corolla is already on sale in several markets abroad and has garnered rave reviews from many international publications. It sports an all new styling, and new features, both of which come together to make the car thoroughly modern and highly competitive. Powering the India spec new Corolla would be the same set of engines that power the current model. This means that the car would get a 1.8 litre, four cylinder, normally aspirated, petrol that benefits from VVT and a 1.4 cylinder, four cylinder, turbocharged, diesel that has a high fuel economy.
The new Toyota Corolla launch is expected to happen in May.
