Toyota Innova Hycross Set To Be Revealed Next Month

The all-new Toyota Innova Hycross is set to be revealed around the next month and go on sale early in the coming year. The Innova Hycross will be a global model that will be sold in overseas markets like Indonesia where it is most likely to be called “Innova Zenix”. Innova Hycross’s debut in India will become Toyota’s third hybrid vehicle to be introduced this year after the Camry and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The MPV will feature a lot of firsts for the brand Innova.

The latest set of spy shots shows almost the entire car from every angle. While the previous spy shots haven’t revealed much about the design, the shots show the MPV in more detail and we even get to look at its interiors. The spy shots show an all-new free-standing touchscreen infotainment system which is new for the Innova. It will continue to feature multiple seating options and a spacious cabin with a decent-sized boot. The Innova is known to be practical and this new model will be no different with multiple storage spaces all around the cabin.

The Hycross is expected to be around 4.7 meters long and have a 2,850mm wheelbase, which is slightly longer than the Innova Crysta. The exterior of the new Innova Hycross gets horizontally positioned tail lamps with LED brake lights and halogen turn signals. The car is also set to feature a bigger grille and a new front bumper. The spy shots of the car reveal 17-inch alloy wheels which are similar in design to some high-end Toyota models. The car also features a fully digital instrument cluster in higher variants, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof, multiple USB outlets, and wireless charging. Additionally, it could also get a soft touch dashboard, an electronic parking brake on higher variants, and LED headlamps.

The Toyota Innova Hycross will let go of the diesel engine and only come with a petrol-hybrid configuration, similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The engine that will be seen on the Innova Hycross will be a bigger 2.0-liter unit paired with an electric motor. Being a Hybrid powertrain, the Innova Hycross will most probably feature the option of an automatic transmission only. Power will be sent to the front wheels, unlike the current model which is rear-wheel drive. The Innova Hycross will be underpinned by Toyota’s modular TNGA-C platform that also forms the base for the current-gen Corolla.
