Toyota Camry Hybrid launched in India @ INR 29.75 lakhs

Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) today launched the hybrid variant of its Camry flagship sedan in India. With this, the new Toyota Camry Hybrid becomes India’s first locally made hybrid car. The Toyota Camry Hybrid has been launched for a price of INR 29.75 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Talking about the launch of the Camry Hybrid in India, Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD and CEO of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said- “Toyota is a pioneer in Hybrid technology and thus we were very keen to manufacture the all New Camry Hybrid in India, as well. This is in line with Toyota’s global philosophy to encourage the use of hybrid vehicles across the globe, for a greener tomorrow.

Powering the Toyota Camry Hybrid is a 2.5-liter 158bhp petrol engine that comes mated to a 44 bhp electric motor. The powertrain is mated to a CVT box and together, the two power sources bestow the car with a max power of 205PS (203bhp). It has emerged that the car has been awarded with an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 19.16kmpl. The car has CO2 emissions of just 122.8g/km.

The Toyota Camry gets additional features in the form of hill start assist, 3-zone automatic airconditioning, power reclining rear seat, a rear seat armrest with controls for the rear seat recline, rear windshield sunshade and a rear aircon unit. The instrument cluster of the Camry Hybrid features a “hybrid exclusive ornamentation” and the front windscreen gets acoustic wind silencer.
