Toyota announces winners of “Toyota Green Journey” Initiative

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. recently announced the winners of ‘Toyota Green Journey’, an innovative contest where students from various colleges in India shared plausible innovative ideas about sustainable initiatives and suggested several frugal ways of improving waste management, fuel consumption and usage of green technologies for a greener future. The contest saw participation from top 200 Institutes in India comprising seven different streams of studies in more than 60 cities.

The three winning institutes were adjudged basis three different categories namely, the best blog article, the best ad campaign and the best concept paper on green initiatives for waste management, reduced fuel consumption and green technology. The winning teams, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai won the contest for the best Ad Campaign, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai for the best Blog Article & Management Development Institute, Gurgaon for the best Concept Paper, are entitled to win Rs 1.5 lakhs and certificates from Toyota.

The chosen groups sent in their entries which were presented to a three member jury consisting of Mr. Shekar Viswanathan, Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Marketing and Commercial, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Rohit Ohri, Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group.
Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Marketing and Commercial, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said “We have had participation from more than 2700 teams and we are very happy with the kind of participation seen by the people.

Toyota is considered to be the pioneers of hybrid technology and is renowned for it worldwide. We look forward to more of such participation in the future as it will help us connect with young minds who in turn will help us generate greener ideas to conserve energy and also help us sensitize people about the positive effects of hybrid technology,” continued Mr. Singh.
