Celebrating Hyundai N’s eighth anniversary. Hyundai Motor unveiled the revamped Elantra N, a testament to the brand’s commitment to high-performance vehicles. Since its 2021 debut, the Elantra N has garnered a dedicated following among driving enthusiasts in the United States and Australia. Now, it sets its sights on China, bolstered by the success of the Elantra N TCR in the local TCR series. Let’s explore the key features of the new Elantra N.
Hyundai Elantra N Enhanced Performance with Motorsport-inspired Upgrades
Derived from the competitive world of motorsport, the Elantra N boasts a host of enhancements aimed at delivering a superior driving experience. These improvements focus on three key areas: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar.
For instance, the reinforced engine mount membrane reduces after-shake, enhancing agility. Meanwhile, G-bushing reinforcement sharpens yaw response and steering precision. A switch from rubber to urethane in the rear suspension S/ABS insulator bolsters damping and yaw response, offering improved control.
Additionally, the Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) hardware sees upgrades, fine-tuning body control, and harmonizing with optimized software. The steering system receives attention as well, with improved gear box yoke specifications for heightened feedback and direct steering response. Low-friction universal joints increase precision.
Hyundai Elantra N Improved Safety, Looks and Performance
All the manufacturers are focusing on safety, same is true with the Elantra N’s design. The front bumper air guide, inspired by motorsport, optimizes braking performance, directing air towards the brakes for cooling. Upgraded Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software and a thermal protector on the front brake hose enhance endurance. Since, Elantra N makes for a great track weapon, enhanced braking performance is a great addition over the outgoing Elantra N.
The Elantra N’s software has been reprogrammed to make optimal use of high-octane gasoline, resulting in improved performance based on feedback from dedicated enthusiasts.
The Elantra N boasts the same specially designed 2.0T GDi engine found in the outgoing Elantra N. Delivering a formidable 280 PS, 392 NM maximum torque, and a top speed of 280 km/h. This powerhouse is mated with a choice of 6-speed manual or 8-speed DCT transmission.

A Stylish Exterior and Interior
The design of the Elantra N is a tribute to its high-performance spirit. The lower stance, enlarged black trim, and exterior color garnish contribute to its dynamic and aggressive look. N-specific red strips and the new black anodized emblem add a distinctive touch. At the rear, an enlarged black bumper and boat tail detail improve aerodynamics while emphasizing sportiness.
Inside, the Elantra N is equipped with N-specific elements, including a steering wheel, shift knob, instrument cluster, and infotainment system. The N light sport bucket seats feature an illuminated logo, completing the sporty look.
Conclusion
With the global launch of the refreshed Elantra N, Hyundai celebrates eight years of its high-performance N brand, showcasing a fusion of motorsport-inspired performance, safety, and style.
The Elantra N’s expansion into China alongside the Elantra N TCR marks an exciting chapter for Hyundai enthusiasts worldwide. Sadly, Hyundai has no plans as of yet to bring it to India. But it would be very cool to see Hyundai to bring something exciting to the Indian roads for the Enthusiasts. Even as a CBU.
As the brand continues to push boundaries, the Elantra N promises to deliver an emotionally engaging driving experience for years to come.
