Ferrari GTC Lusso T

The new Ferrari GTC4Lusso T is the first four-seater in Prancing Horse history with a V8 turbo

Financial Street Beijing.

The upcoming Paris Motor Show will see the unveiling of the new Ferrari GTC4Lusso T, the first four-seater in Prancing Horse history to sport a turbo-charged V8 engine. The new GTC4 Lusso variant employs a modified version of 3.8-litre, turbocharged V8 engine found in the California T. In case of the GTC4 Lusso T, the same engine has been bored out to 3.9 litres, and now produces 602 hp at 7,500 rpm; up from the California T’s 552 hp. The GTC4 Lusso T’s blown V8 is also good for a maximum torque of 760 Nm, available at between 3,000 and 5,250 rpm, which is 63 Nm more the what the naturally aspirated V12 engine produces.

Ferrari says that the “longitudinal performance” of the new model, especially at low speeds, has been enhanced by the Variable Boost Management which promises a zero turbo lag. According to the Italian manufacturer, variable torque curves (VBM) between 3rd and 7th gear mean that acceleration is consistent through the ratios, resulting in a feeling of “vivid but superbly progressive acceleration”. The GTC4 Lusso T is also 80 kg lighter than its V12 powered sibling, thanks to Ferrari getting rid of its all-wheel-drive system. Yes, the new GTC4 Lusso T is rear wheel driven only, with an increased weight bias towards the rear (46:54).

The GTC4Lusso T’s dynamic control systems include the 4WS (rear-wheel steering), which is integrated with Side Slip Control (SSC3), while the styling remains similar to the GTC4Lusso. The cabin of the four-seater GT is similar to the V12 powered GTC4Lusso as well, which means that it features the Dual Cockpit architecture and other luxurious, leather trimmed appointments, while featuring the infotainment system with an 10.25” HD capacitive touchscreen.
