Hyundai Alcazar Gets A New Variant

Hyundai India recently announced the new base trim for Alcazar: Prestige Executive variant. This base variant will come at an affordable price of ₹ 15,89,400 (ex-showroom) which makes it ₹ 55,000 cheaper than before. This 6-seater SUV of Hyundai comes at a starting range higher than others in the segment even with that fact Alcazar has gained a reasonable amount of popularity among SUV fans.

With the addition of this new variant, Alcazar is now available in 3 variants with 4 different seat configurations: 7-seater Petrol Manual, 6 or 7-seater Diesel Manual, and 7-seater Diesel Automatic. The new base variant Prestige Executive is available in Petrol Manual, Diesel Manual, and Diesel Automatic prices which are set at ₹ 15,89,400 for the petrol-manual, ₹ 16,30,300 for the diesel manual and ₹ 17,77,300 for the diesel-automatic.

The cabin of this new base variant of Alcazar features a smaller 8-inch infotainment unit instead of the 10.25-inch touchscreen unit, It comes with voice commands and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto although it has only one mic but comes with 4 factory-fitted speakers and 2 tweeters. Other tech such as auto-dimming IRVMs, SOS button, burglar alarm, and chrome-finished outside door handles are still missing from this base variant.

The other features like the panoramic sunroof, LED headlights and tail lamps, reversing camera, cruise control, etc are still intact in the Prestige Executive Alcazar. This new variant will come below the It sits below Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature and Signature (O) variants of Alcazar.

The Prestige Executive Alcazar gets its Power from the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox producing 159 PS power and a peak torque output of 191 Nm. While the diesel engine is 1.5-litre four-cylinder oil-producing 115 PS maximum power and 250 Nm maximum torque with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox choices. The Alcazar competes with major names in the industry such as Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
