Bavarian car maker, BMW, has released a teaser of the new BMW X4 ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. The BMW X4 release date too has been announced. The BMW X4 release date, which falls on March 6th, will be on the third day of the auto show.
The BMW X4 follows the same design language as seen on the new BMW X5 and the facelifted X3, with a front-grille sporting 3D kidney look as well as “squared” circular headlights. The high gloss frame of the grille is open to the sides and at its lower extreme, giving it an almost “floating” appearance in the center of the nose. The grille of the X4 features prominently sculptured bars with ultra-stylish detailing.
The BMW X4 rides on the same platform as the BMW X3 with a body length of 183 inches (4,648 mm), a width of 75.4 inches (1,915 mm) and a height of 63.9 inches (1,622 mm). It will be to the X3, what the X6 is to the X5, that is, a more stylish alternative for the urban car buying lot.
The new 2014 X4 will be offered with standard rear-wheel drive and optional xDrive, with engine lineup shared with the X3, which will include a petrol 240 hp (179 kW) 2.0-liter, a 181 hp (135 kW) oil burner, and a more powerful inline six 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo producing 330 hp (224 kW). There are very good chances that the new X4 will make it to India soon after it has been launched in the European Right Hand Drive market.
