Tata Nexon Hits Milestone with 6,00,000th Unit

Tata Motors celebrates the production of the 600,000th unit of its popular model, the Tata Nexon.

As of December 2023, the Nexon had not only surpassed the 15,000 sales mark but also emerged as the best-selling model in its category.

Nexon’s Evolution

After a major facelift, the Nexon received a remarkable transformation, boasting a refreshed design, an overhauled cabin, and the introduction of new features.

Notably, the petrol engine now incorporates a dual-clutch transmission, enhancing its overall performance.

Production Milestones

Since its introduction to the Indian market in 2017, the Nexon has consistently achieved production milestones. It hit the 1 lakh unit mark in July 2019, followed by 2 lakh units in June 2020.

The subsequent milestones of 3, 4, and 5 lakh units were achieved in rapid succession, showcasing the growing demand for this compact SUV.

Powertrain of Nexon

The Nexon facelift boasts a robust powertrain lineup, including a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating 120PS and 170Nm of torque. Additionally, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine delivers 115PS and 260Nm.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual, an AMT, and a new seven-speed DCT automatic, incorporating cutting-edge shift-by-wire technology.

Nexon EV Facelift

The Nexon EV facelift takes electric mobility to new heights with a next-gen electric motor featuring vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities. With Mid Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) variants, it achieves extended ranges of 325km and 465km, respectively.

The power output, supported by a 30.2kWh battery, stands at 129PS, with an increased 145PS for the 40.5kWh unit. The consistent torque output remains at 215Nm, irrespective of battery capacity.

Pricing and Range

The Tata Nexon is priced between Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom), offering a competitive range of variants. Meanwhile, the Nexon EV, catering to the electric vehicle market, is available at prices ranging from Rs 14.74 lakh to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
